On March 11, 2011 the north eastern region of Japan was devastated when it was hit with the largest earthquake on record, followed by a powerfully destructive tsunami. Since then, we have watched as people struggle with the loss of their loved ones and all their belongings. Collectively, the world is reaching out to Japan, donating funds to hopefully help rebuild the many lives affected by this horrific tragedy.
About
In an effort to locally make an impact, JOI Media and the Calgary Japanese Community Association (CJCA) have teamed up to raise awareness, by launching the "Hope for Japan" campaign. The campaign will raise funds for the CJCA, who in turn will donate to organizations in Japan that are in the most need. A fundraiser will be held to support the local organization and to assist where possible.
